About Us

Our purpose is to empower children and youth to cultivate healthy relationships through community-based educational initiatives. So far, over a million and counting! WITS Foundation is a registered Canadian charity, and the WITS Program is our most impactful program.

The WITS Foundation began on the territories of the Lək̓ʷəŋən Peoples — the Songhees and Xʷsepsəm Nations — where we continue to be based. We honour their enduring relationships with these lands and waters, and we support the TRC Calls to Action, UNDRIP, and other meaningful actions toward reconciliation (more).

What We Do

Our school and classroom resources for teachers and school districts address bullying and discrimination, and are used across Canada and internationally. Our programs include WITS, Pink Shirt Project, Focus Modules, and our annual Pink Shirt Day show and campaign. See the links below to learn more.

Our team builds educational resources and provides them to schools where they are delivered by educators and community leaders across Canada. We are led by a dedicated board of directors and a small staff who inform our plan and guide our work, which includes many contractors and volunteers to keep our programs fresh, relevant, and responsive to feedback.

Reducing Discrimination

We’re creating a new educational tools that aims to reduce or eliminate discrimination of all kinds. We are currently developing “WAIS to Belong,” a program that will teach young children to proactively and automatically include, accept and strive to understand those different from themselves. We will draw from our nationwide success with the WITS bullying-prevention program to help develop and scale this initiative. Join the pilot, or learn more…
